In the framework of the 3. Berliner Herbstsalon, artists were asked to deal with the topic of rebellion against attributions, generalizations and simplifications, thereby penetrating the context of the capital of Germany.
HOW NOT TO BE RADICAL_AT ALL was a 10-day performance aimed at using art as a counter-radical instrument, in a social context where artists seem to be always expected to “be radical at any cost” - somehow duty-bound to prove continuously their political commitment.
Such a deliberate “dereliction of duty” is neither a pure aesthetic exercise nor a statement of intent, it is a reminder – first and foremost for the author – about how playful art can be in its creative freedom and once got rid of labels and attributions.
